Post subject:  Front Fog Light Jimny Question Help please

Help please anyone with a late model jimny, has to be at least 2005 plus facelift model, and preferably 2007 or newer with factory fit fog lights.

WHERE IS THE FRONT FOG LIGHT RELAY?

I can't find it, I can find the Fuse under the hood, but i can't findthe relay that's referred to in the wiring in the workshop manual. Any one know where it is?

Boring question I know, but if someone can help me I'll be able to write up a 'HOW TO' on how to wire up spotlights or add aftermarket fog lights through it. I've figured everything out except this relay. I have a few unidentified relays, but according to the workshop manual there should be a fuse box with a group of 3 relay slots, and only one out of the three used up by the fog light relay.

I found a plug connected to the headlight loom, down near the wires for the blinkers that could be it, and I also found what I presume it's the plug for the switch above the electric mirror adjuster, behind the black hole filler thingys... Hope this helps lol I can take pics when I get hom from work if you like?

No need for pictures for those, I have them. Just not sure where this fog light relay is thanks for looking, confirms I'm looking in the right place.

Why are you wiring up spotlights using the fog light circuit???

Just wire them up independently using the high beam as a trigger like other people do. There's the small complexity of negative switching but it's easy enough to solve.

@squibby, even if you probably solved this already: you're looking for connector E132 (flat, 8 pins). The manual lists it as "Blower motor relay and front fog relay", so I think it's one common relay. Command from the dash switch comes to connector E132 on pins 6 and 7 to the relay, and you get a positive signal on pin 8. A green wire splits into two wires and goes to connectors E161 and E162 (2 pins, rounded) and then to the projectors.

Location of E132 and E161/E162:

@TheOtherLeft: if you want a separate switch (not related to high beam), this is the method :)

Thanks Vaxxi! I gave up though and just fed a new wire through the firewall. I did take my feed from under the dash (Red wire with silver spots) so I was able to rationalise the two wires down to only one with the help of the wiring diagrams!
