Post subject:  2" lift with EFS springs for Sierra
Hi guys, I tried a search and saw EFS mentioned many times but not much comment on quality.

Does anyone have them in their Sierra? If so what are they like for ride quality and longevity?

I'm looking at this kit at present and it seems very reasonably priced, I'll Add a set of the commo/hiace shocks

EFS are great. though i only use rears, and a RUF.

i personally wouldnt use any thing else. nice and long flexy and yet not too soft that they fold up like other spring brands

EFS straight from the factory run 5? leaf packs. They are rock hard kidney bruisers!! Taking a few leafs out will fix this and make them flex well. They are 7mm thick leafs and can cop quite a bit of abuse!

EFS E..asily F..ucked S..uspension, not overly impressed with mine they sagged in under 6 months and efs didnt want to know about it with the 3 yr warranty, but other people like em maybe I just got a shitty set

If you get soft springs don't overload them! Brother had comfort leaves in his hilux loaded up for moreton and they sagged! Kind of his fault though! I just put danks 65mm efs in mine and I got wicked height still yet to flex it up

I got brand new ome and I can pull the car down onto the bumper stop Nealy with out shocks in.
Thy how soft the ome springs are.

Mine sagged a little, to the height I wanted :) (at first I was annoyed at how tall they sat in my Sierra). Am yet to see a leaf spring that moves at all that doesn't sag over time.

Allot stiffer. I run minus 1 leaf in the back of my extremely heavy Sierra, and minus 1 leaf and minus load leaf in the back of my rather light LJ.

I had OME crap in the back of both, and the front of the Sierra. I cannot find a single thing to compliment the OME packs for compared to the EFS. In fact I swapped out the OME for stock springs because I like springs that actually return to their previous position..... (ie are springs).



The EFS fronts seem a tad too short for a lifted spring (allot of other brands suffer the exact same flaw, Kings don't seem to). The rears are fantastic, though are too long for some chassis' :crazy: :lol: I actually wouldn't recommend EFS fronts, if you just want bolt in 2" lifted springs, I'd try and source some King's for the front, and some EFS for the back.

OME's are all 6mm leafs, which is the same as stock leafs. EFS leafs are all 7mm.

And yes like HighwayStar said, EFS are borderline too long even for the rear of a stock sierra. You wont notice this offroad while flexing, but in a heavily laden situation the EFS rears will unload and collapse the shackle.

I run RUF with ome, the front flexes way easier then the rear.
There's alot of weight at the front(arb bar and winch) and you can see how much there sagged with the weight already.
I'm gonna get some efs rear for the front and see how they will go

For any one who reads this if you want a comfort ride in a sierra(if there's such a thing :D ) and pretty good flex go with ome springs. But prepare to bend or break them with heavy offroading.
I drove through some ruts and banks the other the day, and it was soft and comfy.
Wheels just went up and down with out lifting wheels of the ground.
Ome won't hold the shape or lift for very long that I can see.

the front is always going to flex way easier than the rear due to weight but also the distance the the springs are apart on the back compared to the front.

Well I think mine is around 975-980mm, but my shackle collapse now only because I havnt put in my bumper stop extension.
I'm still using the stock shackles as well.
I'm pretty disappointed with how soft the ome are.
I've done lest then 1km of driving with them and you can see how much they have lost there height, also since I have wt diffs with nt spacing, I had a look at the springs when flexed up and you can see how much twist is in the spring.
I now see why jas has destroyed his ome springs every time he goes wheeling. :lol:

I Run EFS Springs Front and Rear and why i See all very Valid points

i still love mine look the way i look at a Sierra is like this you can only play around with leaf springs so much they will alway be back brakers if u hit something to hard i have no bothered to play with my spring packs at all and im quite happy with them now i get quite good flex as well after iv flogged them for a while if i was to redo the rear i would take one out for slightly better flex but eh i just havint bothed if flex's nice enuf for my liking il take a photo this weekend of it it flexing if u would like one

i have EFS fronts, and if anything they're slightly too short... shackles arent far off being vertical... as for them being too stiff, i completely disagree!... all leaves still there and even then they flex really well for leaf springs...

How far off the bumpstops are they when your all flexed up?

i got the 40mm ones, i hated them for the first 5000km, but then they softened up heaps.
but for long drives on heavy corrugation im going to need to do RUF to smooth the ride a bit for the front.
what absorbers you going to run?

Guys ended up paying someone to install these as I'm yet to stock up on tools since moving out of a unit and into a house :?

They are ROCK hard, worried that the car will tip over rather than flex. I'll give them a month or so to loosen up but may have to look at removing a leaf or two.

Thread bump!

Im down to two leaves front and rear plus the load leaf "trimmed" to act as a spacer basically and these are still very hard! but it is getting a little bit (very small) of flex in the springs now!

Ill give it a few months and see if they sag at all, may have to add some leaves back if it does
