As per the thread title I am looking for ideas for a roof rack system for a SWB softtop 1992 Vitara.
Not going to be carrying anything stupidly heavy. Stuff like swag/tent, fishing rods, canopy etc. Tent is probably the heaviest of all that.
I can get the Calmini one for $775 delivered to SA from WA and they have it in stock. Neat quick solution. Before anyone suggests it, getting it from USA was even more expensive due to the postage. What's the quality of this like?
But one 4wd shop suggested going to an exhaust shop and getting them to make a external frame, like an exo cage and mounting a basket to that. Apparently it's quite a popular thing to do on Jeeps. Anyone seen this before? Photos? Suggestions, pros, cons etc? I would like to get a Snorkle eventually, will this screw that idea?
Are exo frams like this legal?
We are going tot the Eyre Peninsula in the last week of Sept but want some more room as we are going to take the dog (inside, not on the roof rack
