ok i am thinking about putting a vit tank in the zook, they are bigger and my sj80... well its fucked...

questions tho...

do all the swb vit tanks take the in tank efi pump? and does any one have a pic of how they have done there mounts etc??

No. They aren't bigger.

SWB carby = 42L
SWB EFI = 42L
LWB EFI = 55L

Both carby and efi SWB tnks are dimensionally the same.

the carby ones dont have the swimmer pump.

they arent worth the work, I had one in my sierra.

a SV model one maybe worth it though if you can get it to fit

are they the same as a sj80 tank to tanshi? as in can unbolt the pick up and bolt the efi one in??

atm my tank holds around 27ltrs... so that's a massive improvement. id like a sj80 tank but cant find one under $300!! and i am more likely to find a swb vit tank in good nick.

The swimmer pump from any 1.6 vit will fit into a coly tank with a few small mods.

FYI SWB EFI tanks are as hard to fnd as coily tanks.

not sure if they will take the pump, i would guess they might.

as far as mounts go, i shortened the rear drivers side one to make it level with the passenger side rear. then did the same to the drivers side front mount. drilled 4 new holes in the tank flange and bolted it up

Oh, sorry. I mis-read. Not sure on that one. The carby tank probably won'y have a swirl pot though.

I found that the pump cage is a little short. If you extend the pickup hose and the cage by 30mm you can grab every last litre from the tank.

Ah ok. I thought by fitment you meant how they bolt up. I guess it's not a bad thing sucking up all the rubbish tho.

42L for all sierra tanks. Although I think the 1L ute tanks were 40L?

Just make sure your pickup clears the bottom of the tank.

JUst remembering.

you wont fit a vit tank very easily without a body lift as the filler pipe wants to run through where the chassis rail is

Jonno - pump the dents out of your existing tank and drop a Vitara pump in it. Fitting a vitara tank is a heap of fabrication work ( It probably won't even clear your exhaust) and it's not required for your application - you already have a tank designed to take an EFI pump.

Steve.

Hmm. Fair enough. I think either way it's a hassle then.

Maybe modding a leaf tank to take a vit swimmer pump?

Steve.

Thats cos its a carby tank. You need an EFI SWB vit tank, or a coily tank.

Yo, jonno, look in my build I moved my filler onto ontop of my tank so It comes though the floor. If you have a 50mm body lift you can run the filler through in between the body and chassis. I just pulled out my shock cross member and remade it to suit the vits tank. I'm going to remount it a fair bit higher next time.....
