My 91 Sierra has had the carby rebuilt, timing tuned, fuel tank and lines flushed and filters changed but it still wont run. I start it and give it a few revs to get it going then as soon as i ease off the accelerator the revs drop to 100 it shudders and dies. Would this be a fuel pump issue or something electrical????

Anyone kno a decent mechanics to take it to in Adelaide?


Any ideas or help would be much appreciated

Have you checked for spark ie a poor spark and it won't idle properly. check the leads are on properly check that the dizzy cap isn't corderd or cracked and check the spark plugs

check the idle solinoid on the carby... make sure it's connected and goes click.

My car did that. Idel solenoid was packed with dirt and shot, replaced it, runs fine

ok will check plugs, leads and solanoid thanks guys much appreciated. Hopefully thats the issue and can easily be fixed. Spent too much money already fixing the carby.
