Hi Guys I bought some 15X7 rims and 31" tyres from jas at sunshine coast sierra wreckers, sadly they scrape at full lock (both directions) on my newly installed lifted springs!!! (91 sierra SJ70 swb) Jas has suggested installing longer bolts in the swivel hubs to decrease steering lock. I have used the search function but can't find anything about it on the forum. Can anyone point me in the direction of a how to? or offer advice? Barring this ill probably just have to buy some 235/75s to stop the problem but id rather not buy more tyres if i dont have to, plus the 31s look great!!! Cheers all |

longer bolts are only going to do the same thing as turning the wheel less far. |

thats the idea yeah. i just welded a nut onto the top of the steering stop bolt. |

lol fair enough, i was actually worried about ripping the tyres to bits, but i guess if im gonna replace them i may as well get a few months out of them first! cheers guys |

cheers guys I have Suzuki rolling chassis here where a tyre has slowly worn away a good part of the leaf spring pack!  .

my offset helps to clear the springs. 15x8 rim with -25 offset. |

i went down to bob jane today and got them to fit up 2 235/75/15s to test them They still hit b4 getting to full lock on the springs.............. ill measure the offset tomorrow , but they rang king wheels while i was there and they confirmed the rims i have "should" be able to run 31"s without hitting suspension......... is it at all possible i have a NT? its a 1991 model with metal flares |

finally got around to measuring the offset on the rims i have and as far as i can tell its negative 13! im gonna try this bolt fix soon Slow process i know! and sadly the misses is hitting me up to sell the suzy as we have hit some hard times cash wise..... i did offer to sell her cats instead but i don't think they would fetch much!!! |

my 235,s just scrapped on full lock.stuck a washer behind the nut on the hub seal ..problem solved..probably lost about 1/8 of a turn on the steering wheel on full lock...washer is as good as a $10 bolt |

Its odd your having so much trouble with not amazingly huge wheels in a WT. Putting washers on isn't going to help you get in the driveway any easier  , more offset rims would surely help you out but that do cost money  .
My 31x10.5 on 15.8" ~-20/25 rims rubbed awesomely on NT difs for a few years but I just didn't turn in as much as I could. I had no idea suzuki made longer bolts to fix this problem for a few years until i read about it in this thread haha, my 85 NT difs didn't fyi. I swapped to wt difs to fix this problem and now I have inches of room between the tyres and the springs. :/ |

Your suz is a WT Either remove the bolts or turn them around. Threads are not nice to tyres!! I dont understand why they are designed that way. Right on the corner edges of the tyres when you turn.... Shit design. I had other springs, My spring clamps were different, But i bent them open for more movement- Just the same as you removing the bolts completely. I also had a wt, 33x12.5s with -28's. I rubbed, But on the actual leafs, Not clamps. |

Nah mate all looks good to me.. Yours is definitely a WT. I would be removing the bolts from the clamps for better flex. Got me stumped why you are having clearance dramas though.... |
