heyya guys
i have a 91 vitara wagon i was told the gearbox in it is a holden 3 speed is this correct? if so you'd recon its plenty tough enough 4 the little suzuki..id think.

also fellas your thoughts on oil change on cars that do 5,000k a year..is 1 time a year ok..or shud i change it at 6 months or so.

if its the carbie model vitara is it basically the holden trimatic but in a different case.

if its the efi vitara its an AW4 4 speed. auto.

yeah both are plenty strong

Is it an Australian delivered LWB? If so, it's an AW-4. AW-4's are plenty strong, in fact, I don't think they have ever been used in anything with less power than a vitara.

Once a year is more than enough. There would be plenty of EFI vitaras out there running the oil that went in them whe. They were built still shifting fine.

It won't hurt to change it, but don't get obsessive about it.

All wagons are efi I believe,
its the swb that are carby on earlier models.

There are some grey import SWB TBI cars around. (Pirhana have one, as an example) which are TH180C - a trimatic with a lockup converter, which is problematic. (Only the lockup, not the gearbox)
