hey does anybody know or can rebuild a stock 1.3 carbie for me im willing to pay thanks. its just that all my quotes been around 3 to 4 hundred |

I had one rebuild by Carb Tech at Kippa Ring. I don't remember how much it cost exactly but i'm sure it was less than $300. If I can dig up the number for them I will post it up. edit: found it Carb Tech Unit 4/ 38 High St, Kippa-Ring, QLD 4021 p: (07) 32843061 |

I am just getting mine done at carb-tech atm. it looks like is about $420 all up. That included: full acid clean, rejecting the primary and secondary, new shaft and bushes, new butterflies, new choke mechanism, new dizzy diaphragm, new idle up solenoid, removing and re-fitting to car. |

I did my own carby on my old Sierra. I bought a minor kit for $40. Took two days on kitchen bench, but it was never trouble again. If you spending big money on a carby, you really should clean fuel tank, and lines. Fit a real good filter in stock spot, and another after fuel pump. New fuel pump is wise, as the diaphragm can break off and jam up carby. And thrown in some metho or carby cleaner in tank once a month. Or the shit will just stuff up ya new carb. |

just got my car back. i can not believe it is the same car.... it starts and runs so well now definatley worth it in my opion. i was thinking about doing it myself but i just could not be stuffed mucking around. carb-tech did a bang up job. they reckon most of the gunk in the fuel bowl would have been sucked in over time from the air supply. so i have order a new air cleaner seal gasket for the carbie and i will grab a new air filter. i have allready fitted a super fine fuel filtre plus a inline one after the fuel pump. best money i have spent on car so far |
