Hi,
Looking at buying a 96 Sierra with fibreglass hardtop, nudgebar, towbar, 118k., no aircon. It looks pretty much immaculate.
Is $4800 a reasonable price?
I took it for a test drive, only problem was when I hit a bump in the road going down a hill at about 50kmh. Steering started to shudder and I basically pulled up to get it to stop.
I asked the seller about it, he said he had just fitted new front shocks as the mechanic thought that was the problem.
I'm guessing it is something in the steering or wheel bearings? Is there anything in that, that could cost big $'s to fix?
cheers
Youngy

Nothing that takes big $$ to fix, but it can take lots of little things and time to get rid of.
Search for "death wobble"
It's pretty uncommon on stock standard cars though - has it been lifted? Rim offset?
Oh and 96 was the changeover year for leaf to coil - which is it?

definitely a coily.
It has Feb 96 on the ID plate though, whereas Mar 96 seems to get a mention everywhere?
