| Post subject: | sierra doors |
Hey I was just wondering weather any of you have to really slam your doors to shut them properly. mine i need to give a pretty good slam to shut and a really big one dor the tailgate (Tintop) my mates shut nicly with next to no force. is it normal or could something be wrong has always done this wile i have owned it. |

Do they close nicely if you lift the door up whilst shutting it? Hinges on zooks wear out super quick. |

They just need adjusting. Undo the screws that hold the hinge to the body (not the hinge to the door) and move the door around until it shuts properly. Failing that, there's lots of adjustment in the door catch on the body, and failing that, you can crank the window frame in and out (with the glass down) just by hand to get a really nice fit. It's just trial and error. Steve. |

not sure its hard to tell coz i cant hold it up properly and shut it with out holding the handle up so it wont ingage |

Wind the window down and shut it with your hand on the window sill. why do you have to shut the door with the handle up? That's only necessary if you are locking the door? I'm with Sideways - the hinges will be worn and you need to adjust the door up. My doors rarely fit properly because my sills are rooted and I' always swapping between 1/2 doors and full doors, but there is a special sort of satisfaction in a door that shuts nicely. Steve. |

as in steves posts, but give everything inc all the insides of the locks a really good soaking with WD40/RP7/inox first then adjust the catch if thats all thats needed, or lift the hinge and then adjust the catch |
