hi all just fitted a weber off a xf 34 adm and just wounding if anyone knows what size jets i should run in it.

Its on his Vitara G16A.

Running super rich, lots of smoke when running and rough as guts. Revs up slowly and boggy.

Just after a good starting point that someone may have tried?

135-140 mains
160-170 air correctors
55-65 idle

Think the falcon comes out with 180 and 210 mains!

Are you running these jets? Do you run the 34/34 or the 32/36?

Was in the 32/36, but using those jets in the adm carb should get you fairly close!

For a 10 pack of Jimbeam you can have the little bag of weber jets i collected when i used to have one on my sierra. Pick up only.

You are in the ballpark for jetting, here is how it works, the better the condition of the engine, the less jet you need.An engine with better compression pulls more vacuum, so it pulls more fuel. That means lower jets.

I always recommended a compression test before jetting so you have a baseline.

I would swap out the 65 idle for for a 60. maybe even a 55. A 65 jet for a 4 cylinder in a 32/36 is huge!

The mains and air correctors sound about right. Maybe drop the 140 to a 137 or so, and change he air correctors to suit.

You really need to do plug checks at cruise to find out the mains jetting.

The mains are to be tested at cruise and have a big effect on mixture, 5th gear constant speed, turn off engine and cost to the side of the road to plug check.. The airs are for fine tuning the mains mixtures, and make little differences, but can get you dialed in nice.

Idles are for off idle to about 2700-3500 Rpm, then the mains take over.

after you have that dialed in, then do the secondary idles and mains. when tuned right the secondary should actually "roar" and you should feel the power. The intake noise of he secondary when it is tuned right is almost if not louder than your exhaust.
