I'm running 31 x 11.5 tyres on 15" rims on my SJ70 W/T and on full lock my tyres rub the springs. I can buy a set of 4 x 1.5" wheel spacers locally for about $350 but would prefer not to go down that route if possible. I have heard of guys using F100 rims and am wondering if they will give me the clearnace I need for the width of my tyres? If not, what else can I do? |

Put a washer under one of your felt bolts... This will space it a bit, but you will lose lock. Or more offset will fix this |

youll need to measure how much its scrubbing by to choose the correct offset to stop it hitting mate. Air the tyre down completely with that wheel jacked up by the diff, turn to full lock and measure how many milimeters from when it just touches the spring to when the steering stops turning (full lock) compressing the tyre into the spring. running 15x7-15's and 31x10.5r15s my tyres missed my leaves by about 15mm. Im now running 15x7-38's and theres a ton of room. |

My mate runs 31x10.5 on stock F100 rims with no scrubbing. Im running the same on alloy rims and i need spacers. Pretty sure the standard F100 rims have a pretty good offset. |

You simply need to adjust your driving style to suit. When your turning with full lock, turn the wheel to full lock, then back it off a bit... |

Thanks for the responses so far. It's not a huge issue and I can live with it as suggested by adjusting the diving style etc but would prefer to have a more permanent solution. My Sierra only gets driven on the weekend and therefore I could take my chances with spacers - what are peoples thoughts on these? I have read all about extra pressure on bearings and the need to constantly check them for tightness although I would loctite them. I think the best thing would be to work out the offset as Alien suggested or even easier just go out and buy F100 rims?? |

you could change your front springs to NT spacing. |
