Anyone know if these will fit a '98 SV420? I get seriously confused between all the different names these things are called in different countries...

These are the only ones around that I've seen for that model. Dont suppose there's any other choices to weigh up?

the only other option is to regear the diffs.

i went from the factory 4.6's to 5.1's & on 31's my gearing is back to stock. with the terrain we have in SA i think transfer gears would absolutely destroy my dune/beach ability.

Yeah that's the main local spot. Do get out around the blue mountains a bit though.

Thinking bigger wheels (in the 31 range) when the current tires wear out in the not so distant future. So I'll keep my eye out for some 5.1's then.

Pity there isnt a less extreme option with the transfer gears (ie. ~50% reduction instead of 134%). I also like to use low range on the beach/dunes as I find 1st high just isn't low enough, especially in deep sand. Would love a lower crawl speed but dont like the idea of 5th low being the same if not lower than 1st high. Gives a great spread of gears I guess but not really practical for what I need.

Need an automatic damn it :P

i'm in low range from the minute we drop tyre pressures till we air up.... maybe on the odd couple km long beach run i'd stop & grab hi-range
