hey guys I've searched around a bit and haven't found a whole lot has anybody got any pictures or ideas for upgrading the mounting of the transfer case in a vitara. mine is rotating a lot with the reduction gears and bent the selector i can only assume on the tunnel and made me 2wdrive only for a little bit. |

Are you sure your Mounts aren't just old, the rubber does become very soft after a while. Try replacing all the mounts (and probably engine mounts if your getting that much movement). they all need to work in harmony to keep everything vibration free |

mate ive smashed most of the mounts in the car in the last few years so none are two old didnt do it before gears and it was driven alot harder as you needed to as it wouldnt crawl |

have you found any flogged out mounts though? anything that could cause excessive vibration which could cause the mounts to fail prematurely (shitty uni joints, etc...) |

not really mate mounts are fairly new as i said uni's have been replaced diff is almost flat to the drive shaft everything seems good to me just the extra torque seems to be rotating the transfer doesnt need to move that much really to strike the tunnel. havnt seen it hit the tunnel but cant think what else would bend the selector all of a sudden while out 4wdriving. nothing can push my transfer unless its going thought a 5mm plate |

The torque astounded me after fitting gears, it is hard to stop, (auto) even with 4 wheel discs. I can see mounts becoming an issue. I carry a spare, because vit came with one |

Maybe will need to tackle this myself in future, I will share if I get any brainy ideas, and I'll share dumb ideas, too |

hey guys, thinking about getting some gears as driving with 31's on std gears cant last to long. what did you do to over come the issue? a shop in the us (could be LROR) have made some 'indestructible" mounts, has anyone used these or know of them? will try find a link. cheers |

I fitted unbreakable engine mounts from LROR, (designed to fit the 1.6 into a Sierra, but I made them fit the Vit) so far they seem to take the strain, and stock t-case mount is doing well. Being an auto could be less severe on them, too. ![]() ![]()
