I have a 2002 Jimny and i run 30" tyire 31" next time XD.
Just bought a 1L transfer case (no light switch) for 40 bucks. not sure what kind of reduction i should expect but i may be interested in swaping it for a 1.3 transfer, not sure on that one.......

Anyway, watch this space. I should be doing the install soon cant wait!!!!!

im running 31s with wide track transfer case in my jimny
the t case has 4.9-1 reduction gears and high range is now the same as it was when standard tho low range is pretty low

bought the conversion kit from ora and pretty straight forward

been doing some research on the 1.0l nt case and it looks like it wont be enough reduction for me so i came across the rock lobster idea, seems like doing it will cost just as much as getting reduction gears in a wt case. and it also looks like i will need a wt case for the flanges and i might even need to get some wt drive shafts.............. so I might have to sorce a wt case afterall :(

Nobody wants the 1.0 no light cases,
which means a good supply of cases at low cost.
That could make it worth while looking into fitting it.
I used them in my Sierra and never had to ever buy one.
But no gearing options is the negative.

I think a 1litre case would give you perfect gears with 31s. Would be roughly a 20% reduction high and low. Unless you want super low, low range crawler gears.

yeah thats what i was thinking, some kind of 3 stage switch. will be fun :)
does anyone know if my flanges will go on the 1.0L box ? or can i just re-drill the existing ones, i had a look at the rocklobster guide on big jimny and it looks like he used a 1.0L and drilled the flanges. they call it an SJ410 and the 1.3 an SJ413.

Yeah they don't have as many WTs as us so they just re-drill the flanges. If you want a three stage switch maybe you should upgrade to a VVT Jimny

thats 100% correct :(
turns out that the case i have is not going to be useful at all. nothing is compatible with it. going to buy a wt non drum type case and a wt jackshaft. see how i go from there..........................
