Hi, Having a problem with my steering. The power steering is not returning the steering wheel to center when I turn right or left. Do I need a new steering dampner or is it something worse. Only happens on 75% or more lock. If it is the steering dampner, how hard are they to change over. Ironman, Toughdog, OME, ect which brand is best? Cheers Shoey |

I did not think PS was supposed to self centre. Some people use return to centre dampners, but some people hate them. My Sierra ran power steer, didn't need a dampner. My Vit is also power steer, with no dampner factory. They never returned to centre with slow speed big turns. They did at highway speeds, but that could be part of steering geometry |

more caster will help returning to center.. or fit a spool to rear diff, that will help it run straight |

It must be that i'm just used to it returning to center. My other car is a falcon ute and it always goes back. Still I might get a return to center steering dampner. |
