Hey,

can anyone help me out with welding a bolt onto my diff and transfer filler plugs.

I want to change to oil in them.

Mine are to tight and now rounded. I have loosened the drain plugs but haven't emptied them yet luckily.

I tried using a chisel and hammer, I ground down a 3/8 to a perfect fit but didn't work and I can't weld at all, tried (i have no idea) to use my stick welder but lol, didn't work.

any help would be great. I'm on Brisbanes northside.

you can get to the sides of the diff filler with a file then use a large open end spanner or a good shifter to open , worked for me

Can ya pound a square drive ratchet extension in there? Going to be harder to weld an inny, but the heat may help loosen it up too.

When I did mine I drilled the hole at a very slow speed, let the oil drain out fully (took a while, small hole  ) the drain plug is magnetic also  You should be fine mate

I'd suggest NOT using an easy out. I had the same problem with the diff filler plug and decided to use one. Long story short the friggin thing snapped and i was left in a worse position than when i started.

If it was to happen again i would definitely find someone to weld a small bolt or even a nut to the plug.

Just my opinion
