hey zookers. after pulling off nearly everything to get to this water pump in a baleno. got the water pump on (YAY) but when we went to put the timing belt back on and tightened up the bottom pully the crank spun without the cam because we were having trouble putting the belt back on. we previously had the top dead centre mark on the pully lined up with the 20 degree mark on the timing belt cover so we tried to spin it back to that mark and we are prety certain that its all lined up. i am wondering if i should risk it and put everything back togeather and pray that everything is lined up. or weather any of you guys have a better idea like reset all the timing or whatever. any advice would be fantastic guys. this so called (small job ) has turned into a nightmare cheers guys Sam |

did you mark both the crank and the cam? if so make sure the marks still line up, interference motor, dont play russian roulette with it. sorry read it a bit better, well turn it over by hand to make sure its not going to clash, but yeah when i do it, I dont care how obvious the timing marks are they all get highlighted with paint texta so i can easily be 100% sure, and if the marks are in a prick of a spot once its lined up to take the belt off ill add my own marks too with paint texta |
