Give Dank a call from KPD... he stocks tigerz11 and runva winches which are very reasonably prices. If I didn't already have a premier winch i would be looking at the runva winches... hope that helps

Guys I took the Jimny to the Wolgan Valley on Saturday went off the beaten track a few times. BUT every time the track came across anything that remotely became bogey or I reached a creek I decided to not risk it as I was along with no phone service. This leads me to my point. Id like to get a winch. The Jimny already has a ARB winch bar on it so I guess thats a start. I called ARB and they want 1250 to supply and install a 8000 pound winch. Ive looked on ebay and there are much cheaper winches than the ARB supplied Warn winch. Any suggestions? |

If you're on a really tight budget you could buy a hand winch for 1/3 that amount... Otherwise, maybe contact Dank and see what his winch prices are and fit it yourself... |

Well i dont have a winch yet, but i am planning on getting one soon! I go 4x4ing by myself alot and it would make me more confident of going down tracks and through mud. Have a look at the Tiger 2 Winches i plan on getting the 6000 pound, which should be sufficient to pull out a jimny, also if its realy bad you can always put a block in as well. Nick. |

The easiest/cheapest/half decent bolt in option is the 9000lb Tigerz11 winch. The other options are the 6000lb tigerz11 winch which is a beast of a 6000lber compared to the others, but you'll need to mod the mounting holes to make it work. Not hard to do and they are cheaper as well. |

I have the 5000lbs Tigerz 11. The thing with the Tigerz winches is they are cheap but you can trust the rating. 5000lbs means 5000lbs minimum, no less. To be honest though, my tigerz is a bit temperamental when you first start using, it takes a few clicks on the controller before it start motoring which doesn't inspire confidence, but it hasn't let me down yet. Get yourseld a $30 block and you can double up the power of any winch, so I've got 10,000lbs at my desposal and my jimny only weighs about 1500lbs. |

Stock jimny weighs just over 1000kg, or 2200lbs. with your bb, winch, rear bumper etc, i would think you would be closer to 2500lbs. but still much less than the winch capacity. |

Another vote for Tigerz11..... 9k pounder will do you finely. And get the dyneema rope..... heaps lighter and you'll be kicking yourself if ever you have to haul a wire winch rope through a waist deep bog hole..... Trust me, i made that mistake the first time. TF |

Definatly not. If your happy to spend $300 on a winch that is over the top for jimmy, along with ZERO after sales service, ya bonkers! http://auszookers.com/index.php?name=Fo ... ic&t=20219 It make seem like you are spending a shitload more on a tigerz, but when the 'cheap' ebay one packs itself up, you are still stuck in buttfruck idaho, and your $300 outta pocket. Put the money towards a winch that is reliable, has a full range of cheap spare parts and buy from someone who will look after you if the winch does play up for any reason. Just my 2c worth... there is some tigers 6000lb winches on ebay but with out the tigers stickers on them for around the $300 the other week had 5.5 hp motor and synthetic rope, they had tigers ones listed directly below for nearly 200 more and they looked identical minus the stickers |
