I'm going for extractors, bigger cat, 1.75" pipes, a quiet muffler.

Well it depends on what you want it to do and your budget... extractors, hiflo cat and hiflo muffler, and no bigger than 2in pipe, would be the best, but that will depend on your budget, the hiflo cat will be the most expensive bit... do you want some noise, or no noise, no noise will mean you having a more restricted muffler, how much money you got to spend on a new exhaust system ? :D

I was thinking of asking this same question

I would like to be able to hear the car but not be annoying mine isn't road driven
It's a swb Sierra with a 16a

I already have extractors my budget will be about $400

What would you recommend

An exhaust can be done on a budget if you want to DIY
The extractors would be the most $$$$
A cat can be sourced from a larger car - i.e. Late model commodore or falcon
V8 & pipes and mufflers from wholesalers
Bends also
If you have the time and the welder
A $400 budget is not out of the question

I have built my system using eBay extractors a commo 6l cat an 18" hotdog a commo resonator from 6l and mandrel bends
All up total cost was about $300
The commo exhaust was sourced from a local garage sale for $50
A bargain seeing it had only done 5000km and it's all stainless

in our shop we would charge $250 for a cat back system, and if you wanted a high-flow cat it would be an extra $130. thats full mandrel and what ever choice of muffler.
