recently bought an sj80 with 235 Hankook tyres.

I noticed twice now i would be driving along and the steering wheel would shake terribly like the front wheel had most of the nuts missing and was about to fall off.

The car will drive perfectly fine one day then the next this wobble will appear from no where.

Once i stop the car and start driving again its ok.

Any idea why this is and how to fix?

Tyre balance, get that checked first.

King pin bearings, wheel bearings. A steering dampner might mask your problem also :helloo:

balance issue, even a chunk of mud can throw it out. Mine shakes slowing down if i have alot of mud/dirt in one spot. Is the weight missing?

Check the backlash in the steering box. Mine did the same thing even after a wheel balance. Had the steering box adjusted, haven't had the problem since.
