| Post subject: | G13A timing belt question |
I have bee looking around my motor a bit lately to try and find out why it is so f**king gutless so today I pulled off the belt cover to have a look and this is what I found: [img][/img] The crank is positioned at No1 TDC. Isn't the mark supposed to be at the top? It is currently at the bottom. |

Are you sure No.1 isn't on the firing stroke? It wouldn't run like that. Make sure by getting some hose and blowing into No.1 plug hole. There should be no air escaping. |

The crank spins twice, for every one spin Of the cam. So you have the no1 at the top Of the exhaust stroke. But you need it at the Top of the firing stoke. So as is just rotate the Motor (one full spin of the crank and 1/2 of the Cam) and then the timing marks should line up |

But the rotor inside the distributor is pointing to No.1 hence it should be at the top of the firing stroke? |

1.3 timing is done with marks pointing at each other, crank up, cam gear down... I think I remember. My Vit isn't, that had me confused fer a bit, its both marks up. |

Last time I checked the mechanical advance it only went to about 20 and as for the carby the secondary doesn't work but I dodgied it up with wire so that it does |
