as the title says, what would cause the handbrake light to come on while still depessed  any ideas

i'll check the fluid level tomorrow & see if that makes a difference.

My friend had the same thing happen too, everytime we go around the corner the light would come one. Turned out to be low brake fluid

Either that or the switch on the handbrake lever is playing up

I had the same problem a few years back with my GV. Turned outto be a faulty handbrake switch.

brake fluid was a bit low, topped it up & seems to be ok.

if your brake fluid was that low it might be a idea to check your brake pads, the fluid doesn't go anywhere unless you have a leak and slowly goes down as your pads wear.

My top up is usually once a week, My rear drums leak..
Just gotta get the time to put my new pistons in
