I'm going to be putting a G16B into my 1997 Sierra. Has a 2 inch body lift at the moment. I will be using the BenT adaptor kit. My question is will I need to modify the sump on the G16B at all for clearance?
Cheers

That depends on axle position and bumpstop location. It's best to swap in the G13 Sump and oil pickup. Most likely the G16 sump will foul.

Steve.

Stock bump stops. Are there many people who have put this motor into a coily?

It would also depend on the 16b motor.

Steve is correct, it is best to swap the sump with the 1300. It depends how much lift and how much bump-stop spacing you have done.

The diff will touch the sump in a leafy when the suspension compresses to the stock bump-stops. It may be slightly different in a coily, but I doubt by much.

I have installed a 1600 in a Coily with the stock 1600 sump, but it had 4 " of lift, and most importantly, 2" of bump-stop spacing.

i put a photo on here somewhere a few years ago of a 8v vitara motor in a leaf sierra.
the diff was on the bumpstops(20mm extended) and there was at least 60mm
vertical clearance and 25mm sideways clearance between the sump and diff.
