Its been raining non stop here in West Sydney (not bullets) I got into the beast which had been in the carpark all day and when launching away got a flood of rain water from under the dash ! pax and drivers side ! WTF .Squirmed my head under the dash when got home and could see nothing obvious ,no holes .Im at a loss where its building up and then shooting in !
Any one came across this before ? By the way ,my zook is a 96 SWB soft top .Cheers guys .

Yes, this is very common... stick your head under the dash and make sure the heater connections are secure so water cannot leak out of them. Also, make sure that the air vents (up near the windscreen wipers) are clear of dirt, leaves, etc... This hould resolve your problem from memory :)

yes the airvents under the grill at the base of the windscreen look like the culprits ! might have to adapt the vacuam cleaner to get in there and blow the crap outa there. There is a build up of crap .Surely there must be a long term fix to this ? If i get moved up to Darwin where it rains like hell ,im in for wet feet every trip ! lol

yeh theres 2 drains from that top air vent in front of the window - they go down and come out the firewall... if they get blocked up, the vent fills with water which goes through the inside air vents.

i had mud and all sorts caked in mine, took ages blasting it with a hose to get that out, then finished it off with coathanger wire to get leaves etc out of there... havent had an issue since.

I've got the same problem whenever I go though puddles or it rains whilst driving.
will the culprit be the same for my 91 SWB?

Sorry for hijacking

If your heater box is plugged there is this that I stumbled across ages ago.
Pretty simple solution, and cheap, might help

AhHa ! found the two little downpipes either side ofg the engine firewall ,will have to adapt a probing thingy to clean out the crap ! pity i cant access the vents at the base of the window so I can put some sort of fly screen mesh to prevent crap building up .
