the g13ba in my 95 sierra is nearly cactus so i was looking to get a low km import engine instead of rebuilding mine i had a look and alot of importers have g13a engines but not so many g13ba engines, is there any issues putting a g13a in my 95 considering they stop putting them in sierra's in 89(i think). I know they are essentialy the same engine but i am worried about the legalities of putting an 80's engine in a 90's car. |

Frowned upon..... Save a lil more coin & get a balino eng, you won't regret the extra work for the conversion..

trust me the thought of efi is definatly some thing i would love to do but im on a pretty tight budget and when it comes to of all the wiring and setting up the fuel system i wouldn't be able to do it myself i'm ok with basic mechanical stuff but that would be out of my depth. |

G16a would be your next best option I'm doing it now as I was going to rebuild my 1.3 but it's cheaper this way engine and adaptor and some stuff done by the mechanic I'm up for about 1000 so it's not to bad slowly bit in the end it's worth the wait |

In NSW the engine must conform to the same emmisions standards as the later of the two, car or engine. You might be okay with an 80's engine into a 90's car since the ADR's only got tight in the 2000's. Before then they were pretty slack. Example, I think Euro 1 was only adopted in 95, but don't quote me on that best to do some research. At what point Euro 2 onwards was adopted is well documented and easily available online if you search a bit for it. |
