Hey all, in the process of doing an engine conversion; an EFI engine out of a 94 LWB vit into a 89 SWB vit, have put the fuel tank, loom, fuel line etc all in and its time for the engine but have encountered this problem.

Should add that its my first zook and first car iv really worked on.

The gearbox out of the SWB is staying in and has cables coming out from it into the engine bay.


The LWB donor also had cables but only short and ended in white plugs.. similar to the ones in the SWB.

The SWB cables from the box go to the coloured plugs which connect to the parts of the engine.


The same and similar plugs are also in the loom from the LWB donor as in the picture below..



Are they all required to be connected, if so which plugs from the LWB loom will connec to the gearbox cables? the gearbox was already seperated from the engine when i got the car so thats why i dont know :/

Anything loom plugged into the switches on teh box is leftover bits of loom that shouldnt be there

have you removed the entire carby loom from the car and swapped in the efi loom?

I have removed the entire carby loom apart from those few bits of cable coming from the gearbox.

The EFI loom is in and is the one on the left of the picture.

So i take it i remove the last of the carby cables? back to switch or back to white plug?

As gearbox and EFI engine in donor were already seperated, Can you tell me what cables from the EFI loom or engine go to the gearbox?
