They are different, I don't know if it will fit. It would certainly fit in a later model type 3 SJ40.

You can make a 5 Speed using your Maruti gearbox and the internals from a 1.3l 5 speed.

the model i have is sort of a cross over being the 85 it has all the engine gearbox ect of a 1 litre but the interior of a later model sierra. so there is a possible chance this gearbox will not bolt up :/

That makes it more likely it will bolt up. Maruti 4 speed is a copy of the last Suzuki 1L 4 speed. Best bet would be to try and measure the 2 boxes.

the box WILL bolt up to the engine, as long as they are both from an F10A, if it's a 4 speed then its right. and as highway star said it's more likely that it WILL fit with yours being an 85 with the 1.3 dash.

if the box is bigger then your current one you can still make it fit, but you will need a jackshaft from a 1.3 and will need to make a custom gearbox mount. If you need to do this PM me and I can give you some advise on how I done it to mine.

whats wrong with the gearbox thats in the car at the moment?
