| Post subject: | wiring chinasoong compressor |
Hi guys, Some of you may know that I bought a Chinasoong locker. Now my expertise is minimal. I have no idea when it comes to dc wiring. I am trying to wire up my compressor but failing. Here is the diagram I was supplied
However, chinasoong switches are different. They only have 4 terminals on the back. Can I get by without buying an arb genuine? Heres my problem. I have no idea which terminal is which on the switch. So I don't know which terminal to put the black wires on? Which one to put the red on? I have also hooked the red-yellow wire to ignition (cd player circuit) 20 amp (compressor inline fuse is 30a). Everytime I turn the key its blowing the cd player fuse. There are no wires earthing to the frame. I'm thinking excess current draw is the problem? The odd thing is, I can't hear of feel the compressor kick in before the fuse blows. Please don't laugh at my stupidity |

what wires do you need to hook up and what colours are they? what wires do you have at the switches? somebody that knew any wiring would know a good start would be get a meter and figure the switch out |

Usually i would. But I don't have a meter here. I'll take it to work and find out the terminals. |

Hook your wire to acc onto the key barrel not you cd player. If your switch has 4 point I'm guessing two black wires go to 3 and 4 Yellow and red either goes to 1 and 3(swap around till compressor work) Arb harness has labels on there's so I assume chinasoong ones don't? Edit: on the back of your switchs is thee numbers? If so Black wires to 7 $ 8 White and blue to 6 Red and yellow to 3 Red to 2 But as you said you oy have four pins so Idk no what's the go there |

and 4 spots on the switch? does the terminal layout on the switch look like above but minus a spot for a black wire? |

Nope. No numbers on the back. It just has 4 terminals on the back. They are four corner layout |

hook up red and red yellow and no others to a pair and see what you get, move em around till you get some switch action, then try adding an earth to one of the remaining to see if you get some light up when you turn it on then try adding the blue to see if it will light up with dash lights |

if they red yellow is just the ignition trigger it it ok to go from the radio, its only switching a relay and solenoid, I reckon you were shorting it hooking the switch up wrong you can with an ARB, mines on its side behind the seat |
