Hey guys,

Just wondering if there is trick to remove the top bolt of the fuel filter holder. I can't get a socket, spanner or screw driver in there. So far, I've have only tried from underneath. Would removing the wheel help?

Also, in the FSM it says to remove the fuel pump relay and crank the engine a few times to release the pressure. Can I also just remove the Fuel Injection fuse and crank it over?

Cheers.

relay is just as easy as the fuse.

X2, the idea is to drop the pressure in the line...

Top bolt's are a prick, from memory I used to jack the chassis up, but can't remember what side.... ( cocking a led basically)

& it has been known for that bolt to not go back in..... :helloo:

I'm going to remove the wheel and cock it's leg and see if I can get in from there.

top bolt isnt that hard to get to !!

and the reason behind the disabling the relay and not the fuel injection fuse is this .. without the fuel injection fuse the injectors wont fire , hence you wont relieve any pressure that is currently in the rail , by disabling the relay , the fuel wont pump , but the injectors will relieve the pressure ..

Where is the fuel pump relay? I changed the filter last weekend and once the 2 hoses were removed, about 100mL of fuel came out.

I took the wheel off and it was heaps easier to get too. A ratchet spanner would have been perfect to get the top bolt off, but not necessary. I reinstalled without the top bolt.
