hi im looking at buying a sierra with the 1.3L engine in it. the 1.3 is on gas but i was thinking i have a 1.6 block laying around how much effort would it be to put the 1.6 in but keeping the 1.3 head and gas on it? if i do do this i would be putting the vitara's 3 spd auto and transfer case in it as well. so what is required in this conversion? |

Swapping in the 1.6 is as easy as fitting the BenT or Petroworks kit and away you go. Why bother putting a 1.3 head on the 1.6? Vit box will bolt to G16 but the rest of the install is a shitfight. The floor/tunnel will need major mods. New crossmember will need to be made. Then there is the big problem...... Vit transfer has a centre rear output whereas Sierra is offset to drivers side. |

hmm sounds like it would be easier to no bother would the standard 1.3 box bolt up to the 1.6? the only reason why im thinking this is that i have a 1.6 block (heads no good) and a 3spd auto both came out the vitara i bourght a little while back |

If you buy an adapter kit you can bolt the G16 to the Sierra gearbox. The other option is to run the Vit auto with a blanking plate back to a Sierra transfer. I think Joeblow makes a blanking plate. |

That would be good but you need a engerners cert for injection and you don't for a carb that's one reason why I went a crab 1.6 plus I didnt have the cash for a g16b can't complain about the carb 1.6 I sit on 100 with 30s and standard gearing so it's about 110 115 kmh witch is a big increase and I need to reco the carb so it runs out of legs after 4000 rpm due to lack of fuel feed hahaha |

I had this in 2 of my Sierra, yes there's noticeable power increased, but be far better to fit a g16b and be done with it. |
