Hey guys, ive just done an engine conversion to a swb vit, leaving the same gearbox in. Ive gone to reconnect the clutch cable and now it wont spring back. If i manually push and pull the arm by the gearbox, the cable moves in and out and the spline rotates a little bit, but stays at either fully in or out. If i manually push the pedal it moves the spline and cable but stays in, if i pull the pedal out, the spline and cable move back. Cant yet start the car to see if its engaging. Basically the clutch just doesnt spring back, any idea whats wrong? Spring up under the dash on clutch pedal seems to be okay?? Probably something straight forward but its got me stuck :s Thanks in advance |

Is it the same set-up as a Sierra box?
While the box was out, did you take the clutch release bearing off the input shaft? Or fiddle with the spring on the clutch release shaft? If the spring isn't sitting right, or is broken, it would cause the symptoms you describe. |
