Hi Guys, For those that have done the 1ltr engine transfer to a LJ80... Did you use the 1ltr clutch ok against a LJ80 Gearbox or did you have to fit a LJ80 Clutch? (or use a 1ltr Gearbox?) , Gerard |

Jacobs has a 1 litre flywheel, clutch and pressure plate and an LJ80 gearbox. |

Thanks Kas. The guys are having some problem with the clutch not disengaging and thought maybe it was a mismatch between the 1ltr engine and LJ80 gearbox. Any ideas they can try before they pull the engine out again? Thanks again, G PS Happy New Year! |

Has the engine not been used for a long time? The clutch plate could be seized on the flywheel. Sometimes you can hold the clutch in and push the car in gear to unstick it. |

Thank you for the help. The guys tried that but the clutch still stuck, so rather than delay im collecting a new clutch kit tomorrow and we will work with that. will also try get a new rear main oil seal tomorrow (at some shop in Bris or better Ipswich area?) as given the engine is out it makes sense to replace that at the same time (the old one inst leaking but I reckon its a good idea to replace it when the clutch is coming out). |
