Probably would be. But I reckon it is more fun to build a zook, that everyone around you says can't be done. Better than being a sheep. (Not that anything I've done is original thought) When I got a Vitara instead of my LWB Sierra, I copped similar attitudes, lots of people telling me I was all wrong, but that makes it much more fun. Assuming success, of course |

I don't think anyone is suggesting it can't be done, but the cost and hassles don't make it worth the effort. Steve. |

Assuming success, of course I got the same from a few of my mates about modding a GV and fitting lockers. Some were even suzuki drivers.
Why do we do it.... Coz not many others do. We like to be different. Well i know im different.

So is the high pinion coily front diff the same bolt pattern as a 1 litre??? seems it would be strange to have suzuki design everything again when the could just use old stock and designs. I know the coily cvs have a circlip groove in a way different spot but the cv size themselves looks like one litre. Is there any one that could compare all these bits side by side?? |

I have some CV's/axels already out of my coily. If someone has a 1litre axel/CV I'll have a measure |

Assuming success, of course Yer when i tell ppl some of the MINOR differences between coilys and leffys they say just get a leaffy, but i love standing out and being different. and besides, it has grown on me in the past 8 months. even if its tempramental at times. |

It's definatly not an easy or cheap job to put a locker in the front of a coily though it can be done with alot of stuffing around and a fair bit of money thrown into it, IMO it's not worth it i would go a wide track diff or a whole new option. |

Is there any one that could compare all these bits side by side?? They look identical - I was sold a pair once that were supposed to be coily, but turned out to be 1L. Only difference was length of axles and circlip groove position. CV looked identical. I still have both pairs to compare if anyone wants to drop by my place and have a look. |

I baught my sj80 last friday, since then iv rebuilt my carby, wacked a bullbar on it and just managed to fit a set of 30" muddies under it with minor grinding etc with out scrubbing. Im currently looking for some sort of kit to or a way to lift it/ give it more articulation. Whats your thought? Besides get a leaf sprung zook. Thanks |

The limiting factor for a coily is there are very few options for aftermarket/lengthened struts for the front. FWIW the eBay kits are great. I had one in mine for a few years before converting the front diff to a leafy housing with cromo's and a locker. |
