hey all, happy newyears! just a question, whats the implications with 1600 bottom end under jimny head?? is it as straight forward as bolt up?

Yes - the heads are all the same, so you'll need an appropriate timing belt ( be aware there's a couple of options) and that's it.

the 1600 bottom end isnt really considered to be a good platform for turbocharging when compared with the 1300 if thats what your thinking

my zuk runs this setup and it goes great and looks factory.

you'll also need the hose that lets you use the standard sierra airbox (its not cheap either!)

i didnt sell it - i broke it and cos of this shitty time of year im waiting for parts =(

i get no lean/rich issues... just tons of torquey powery goodness... enough to destroy my driveshafts =D

None I've seen, I'm told there is 3 different map's in the ecu that can be changed by changing the res to earth of the ecu, but haven't confirmed this or tested it.

The jim ecu will run a 1.6 no worry's....

hey guys sorry to crash the party.. but is it as simple as getting a 1.6 block and swaping everything over? i have a jimny also and im interested in doing this. are the timing belts and everythig the same?

Standard there are usually several different setups with two different pairs of fuelling and timing maps which can be changed by inserting or removing configuration resistors. The G13BB is reflashable so it is also possible to change the mapping to the 1.6 mapping.
The 1.3 ECU does seem to run the 1.6 OK but the maps are different shapes so it won't be optimum.

Hey alien is a 1.6 or 1.3 flywheel and clutch used? I'm guessing 1.3 but just to be sure

1.3. You'd need to run the 1.6 gearboc to fit the 1.6 flywheel and clutch, as they are bigger and do not fit into the 1.3 bell housing.

Yeah that's what I thought fatzook! I'm going to look at a 1.6 block out of a vitara this weekend and if it's all good I'll start the conversion in Feb! The blocks are basically the same arnt they? So power steer alternator ect will just bolt up?

Nope. the 1.6 block is slightly taller. You will need to mod the brackets for the P/S. Not sure about ALT. Be carefull to check your belts fit the ACC's as well.

Don't be put off by this. Modding brackets is the easy part :wink:
