Hey fellow Jimny owners.

Could some one please do me a huge favor and take a photo of the back of their OBD II plug, showing the wires and post it up for me, please

The reason i need it is that i need to re-wire mine as the person who was not only silly enough to put a cheep "Volo performance" module in but hard wire it to the OBD II wires and leave no thing on the plug for me to match the wires up to, as i prefer to have this plug for diagnosis rather than the bullshit "Volo performance" thing.

better check to see if he fitted the FS3 Fuel Saver & did you update the firm ware before turfing it out?

surprised they don't sell blinker fluid.

be funny if you do notice a loss in performance.

2002, M13A non-vvt. no loss in performance, no gain on fuel usage.

You should check the air and coolant sensors, I've heard that the Volo chip comes with a resistor that needs to be fitted, if you have that then you might want to remove it. From what I can make out the Volo chip is just the usual resistor tweak plus a box that continuously resets the ECU to prevent it self tuning, although I don't have the inclination to buy one and to test it.
Its extremely unlikely that the Volo chip will be able to talk to the ECU, a 2002 model is most likely to be be a Suzuki proprietary protocol called KWP-SDL which is a variant of the KWP protocol commonly used for KWP2000.

Its not just a resister, there is circuitry with a chip that actually looks like an ecu chip, not that i would know for sure.i think it just interferes with the sensor readings to make the engine run richer, of which will root your sensors and then eventually the cat.

there are no resistors on anything. everything is standard in the electrical department apart from the Volo shit that was wired to the OBD II wires. the thing did nothing but make the ecu flash every now and then.

Interesting, anther guy bought one for a GV and that did include a resistor. The box contains a circuit with a PIC microcontroller thats supposed to communicate with the ECU using the diagnostic link, however there isn't a lot you can do via the OBD2 serial link, you certainly can't modify the sensor readings.
