Gday all, its been two weeks since i've seen my Sierra(s) but when i get back home on the weekend its all systems go with an engine and gearbox switchout from one to the other Sierra. Just wondering if any Perth locals might have a bit spare time to pop over and lend a hand or advice on getting the job done.

Drop me a pm if you're up for a tinker. I wont get a chance to come online again until friday, but i'll put on a few beers and a bbq if you're keen for a saturday arvo spanner session :)

Looks like i've sorted a mean army of one for the job, oh well, too bad so sad. Before I get stuck into it - what to do to free the gearbox... besides freeing the prop shaft?

I've had a good look around but side tracked pulling the radiator off, and exhaust and fuel tank out... half asleep from two weeks of nightshift too.

Any tips or tricks to getting the engine and gearbox out in one piece?

mate if i had seen this earlier i would of came over and given you a hand, been sitting at home most of the morning.

just make sure all the obvious things are removed (wires, shafts) and then the not so obvious stuff....if i knew then it would be obvious. maybe drain the oil in the box/engine so when lifting it out on the angle it doesnt run everywhere.

No worries Aron :), well, i'll be doing nothing but plugging away at the car for the next fortnight until it's done. Feel free to pop over if you got nothing doing (goes for any AZers out there).

PS - anyone in need of hardtop bits hit me up with a list. I want my old hardtop gone by next Monday, apart from a couple more bits I plan to take out the rest is up for grabs.... maybe i'll list it in the classified section.
