roof top tents are around 1200mm X 1400mm x 300mm when packed up, go have a measure. |

The other thing you need to think of is if the roof is able to carry the weight of the tent + yourself and if someone else is in there with you + the bouncing you may have with that person. Sure you can get roof racks rated at XX Kgs but the roof may not be able to carry the weight. |

Sure you can get roof racks rated at XX Kgs but the roof may not be able to carry the weight. x2 Plus consider your GVM and CoG, there's not that much room for movement. Though i wouldn't expect that they'd weigh to much. If it were me I'd build a little off road trailer with a roof top tent. Check out Joes or some of the other guys trailers. |

roof rack max weights are for moving only, sitting still they can handle a tent and 2 people fine bodyroll and pushing through teh wind will be interesting though, ive had 60kg on the roof with no swaybar and if was pretty exciting to turn |

yeah the body roll would be abit fun to see haha, i measured it today and a roof tent would cover the whole roof because i got a SWB so its abit of a bummer , i waas looking at getting a small trailer to put the teent on but i can find any that are a 5x4 but ill just keep looking. thanks for the help guyys |

5 x 3.5 are easier to get hold of, would suite a zook well. |

running my roof bag in my basket was terrible on the open road, no top speed & shit house fuel economy hence me going the trailer option. |

Is that what you call an open road in Adelaide Atari? When I was looking at the roof top tents they were all around the 45kg mark if that helps. |

60kg's is pretty light considering it's a bed/tent for 2 people. if you set it up so it opened from one side the overall width would be about 200mm less but i guess then you can't set up the annex over the back & open the tail gate under cover.
