I've been building a battery tray to fit under the passenger seat today. I built it to the D27 (larger) dimensions so I can fit either. I didn't realise there was such a cost difference between the two. The specs for each are below. Use will be for runing winch, spotties, engel fridge, compressor etc. And yes I've done the falcon Alt upgrade. Vehicle is a G16 powered sierra. Do you think the higher rating for the D27 is worth the cost.

D27F = $470
830 CCA
66 AH

D34 = $285
750 CCA
55 AH

Thanks, I've never been real cluey with the magic of batteries.

John

750cca is heaps, my 6500lb winch requires a 700cca winch if you go by the manual that came with it. With your upgraded alt as well I reckon the D34 would suffice. That is also a good price too, I paid about $300 for mine.

Just so you know, I run a D34 in my 355 stroker V8 that has big electric thermo fans, elec water pump, big fuel pump system, Crane fireball ignition and about 11:1 compression. If it can crank that thing over first go every time then your 1.6 and a few spotties etc will be a walk in the park.

D27M Is a blue top marine battery with an extra set of small termainls which come in handy. Same rating as the D27F Yellow top.

not much difference in my opinion. is an extra 10 amp hours worth it in your eyes, thats pretty much what it boils down to.

wont make a difference winching, but potentially with run time on fridge you might get another half a day or so (not sure cant remember engel draw specs)
