Hey guys i need something made up to relocate my thermostat housing so that it wont hit the firewall.
ive found a pic of what Gwagensteve did.

where can i go to get something like this made??
or is there anyone on the forum willing to make one up for me?
im in sydney.

any help will be muchly appreciated, i cant wait to get my zook back on the road, its almost been 6months since i last drove it

Have you checked cairnszook's build thread?

He used a swift housing iirc (was looking last week) and it just clears the firewall but apparently they are a pita to get out of you need to change them.

yeh ive seen his thread. i have the swift housing sitting in my garage but i dont think it will work because i have a 2inch body lift.

That's right, your heater hoses will be in the way.
A 1in BL will clear, just. No BL will clear even better

i have kinda just finished my conversion to and used the swift housing bolts straight up. I also have 2 inch lift it fits just need to connect the hose before fully bolting up other wise you will struggle.

Damn, well at least I can fab up one of those pipes when the time comes.

You can just use the swift housing and run it over the extractors if using bodylift, also to change thermostat it's easy, just undo the two bolts on the thing that the temp sensor and the thermo stat goes in and the whole section comes out easy!!

Just out of curiosity. Making an adaptor piece like that. Is there any reason it cant be steel? Or will the dissimilar metals eat each other away even through a gasket?

and does the inside need to be coated with anything?

im almost finished freshening up my new motor. il have a trial fit on the weekend see if the swift housing will work.

if it doesnt fit what sort of shop will i have to go to get that piping made...

Just a 90's G13a 4door/2door swift/cino/maxx. Unsure if Gti's are same.

dp87 used a TimsCustoms(me) housing with the swift 90' outlet.

Yep the housing was from a 90's swift. the carby engine one. Thanks Tim for the housing. very happy with it
