Post subject:  Jimny build plan.
:helloo: guys, i sold my lwb, and bought a 99jimny, it's way awesome, (monley was right), but im stalling out on steep rock faces as the lowrange is terrible, and flexxing out on gutters. I want it as a daily driver, but i wanna throw it into lowrange and crawl all the hard tracks.

So this is my proposed build, it's very open to suggestions, as im still learning ;)

235s
sierra case (do i need different then stock 1.3 ratio?)
air locked (F&R)
dig
more travel (need any ideas) was thinking 3link, captive springs and heaps longer shocks..... anything simpler would be great :D

Yes I'm pretty sure it is. I think 4.16 t-case gears (i think ?) Would be sweet for 235s....

Thanks timmy, but I might try a slightly bigger set of coils next, maybe a soft 60mm set???

it's bluesuzy's old jimny, it has a (stiff) 50mm lift and tim built he sliders.... The mounting is pretty neat I must say ;)

Has anyone else bought those shocks?

I had em, faded a bit on dirt road's, but wasn't unsafe..
If you going over 50mm tho I think they will be to short....

Need some pics of sliders underneath finished. I have the slider build picks for future jim drivers to build/dream.

Softer rate spings and softer shocks. TD Lift is shocking. Does Monleys flex? Ruf and unsure what he's running in rear.

This pic is with the TD shocks and coils in the rear. I now have standard fronts in the rear, with 5" procomp shocks, shock re-locators and some how it will still gets on the bump stops :D . Then for the front I run 3" TD coils with 40mm spacer's and custom TD gas shocks.

The ride is pretty firm, but i don't mind cus it feels pretty stable on side angles with the firmer coils :D . OME is said to be one of the softest lifts out, but only when you keep the OME shocks. Smiffkid ran the OME lift for a while, if was very nice off road but had fuk all flex :( . He then swapped to TD gas shock all round then the ride become very firm and that was still with the OME coils :?

The Jimny bits 75mm lift is quite a soft ride and has decent flex
More lift you go, more shit you have to buy.

+1 for Jimny Bits, Got the whole package from them for 1600 delivered, including radius arms, springs, shocks, brake lines, prop spacer, pretty much everything to do a decent lift with nothing more to pay.

(i went 75mm, check my thread if you want pics)


Can you post detailed pics of those sliders? (especially underside) look well made.
