Yes and no, not really. The coiler case has a slightly taller high range so highway revs will drop, but that might not be a good thing - I don't think there is any evidence that a sierra is revving too fast on the highway in stock form- you might not be able to use 5th gear as much, for instance. A coil case should be quieter, but I would have thought it should be pretty much undetectable - there's enough other noises going on that isolating what's coming from just the case would be hard I think. I've got standard size tyres and 6.5 transfer gears in my zook at the moment and even with the high revs it's getting way better fuel economy than I ever have on various tyres from 28's to 34's. |
