hey guys
I have a hidden coolant leak. its a g16b motor
Its not the pipe out of back of the water pump or any of the hoses that I can see.
I nearly seems to be coming from under the timing belt cover??
where are the common spots for them to leak?
not I'd normally be the first to say put a pressure tester on It but I dont really need to as its leaking I just cannot see where.
suggestions.

yeah right
its only happening when the system pressurises
so it could well be under the cover, because fucked if I can see where its coming from.
fuck it now I'm going to have to pull the shit box apart again
only drove it for an hour too

is it worth putting a gasket on a 85,000km pump??
or just arsehole the pump like my gut feeling

i had a leak on the lower front hose which only appeared under pressure, and it squirted a fine mist of coolant to the back of the block... was looking all over the place before i noticed it when i had my arm in there and my arm got wet! lol

there was no white crusties at all around the leak, which was a pinhole right against the hose clamp.

I replaced my water pump while engine was in bits.
Was very cheap from the local auto shop.
Forget exact price, but I was suitably surprised.
edit; found reciept
$55 brand new (with a trade/regular discount)

Stick ya fingers behind the pulley as far as you can go.. there is a drain hole there to let ya know that the seal on the water pump shaft seal has given up the ghost
