G16 1.6L hands down. Its the same engine line as the stock 1.3L (provided you dont have a 1.0L). Carb'd or EFI it doesn't matter. EFI is more expensive and more electric oriented though. If you go any other engine your looking at a fair bit of work.

if you have a 1 ltr you are changing mounts any way with any engine you put in.
if its a 1.3 stay with that or go the 1.6 vitara engine.
does any one know the weight difference if a 1.3 to a 1.6?

Easist engine swap is to sell your car now and buy one with already done.
Honestly this is the cheapest and easiest way you will ever find
Best engine swap is not a 4age or a 302 cleveland ( trust me on that one) but the engine designed and manufactured for the car The 1.3 sierra engine

Hey seen where do you live i have mates with different engines combinations in suzukis i can arrange a look if you are in Brisbane. The others are right 1600 vit is a good all rounder they do have their problems but you keep it all Suzuki.
I know you have a red soft top WT I saw your Utube post. 1600 needs different engine mounts, and it needs to be adapted to your gearbox, you can buy a kit with everything needed to make it fit or if you have the ability you can make your own mounts and modify the 1300 bellhousing to fit, some wiring and rerouting of things is needed, bigger radiator needed as well.
Have you thought of trying to get your 1300 working better and then gearing the car down, you will be surprised how well they can go when they are breathing well, that would be the cheapest and easiest option and can be done one step at a time as you have the money.

If you can actually find a G16A carby motor, you will pay anywhere from $200 to $1000 for it depending on who is selling it, and its general condition. Also factor in new engine mounts, adaptor kit for your gearbox, clutch, and possibly a radiator upgrade if yours is a little sad.
So after all this expense and effort you will go from your 1.3l carb with 47kw and 100Nm to 55kw and 110Nm. Its just not worth it.
Either Budget $3-4K for an EFI 1.6 (70kw 130?Nm) or stick with the 1.3l.

ummm..... just to clear it up for ya seen but you cant do that either.... you arent allowed to drive a car that has performance modifications to the extent they need to be blue-plated or engineered... dont bother i am just learning to live with it and you will have to as well
