so recently two of my zooks have developed a very annoying problem with the right idicator.

when i signal right all i get is a fast buzzing sound with no ilumination of any of the indicators or on the dash. Left side works no problem, and the left side flash when the hazards are on.
I have checked all the globes and conections on the right side and everything looks fine.

the car is a 98 maruti and a 92 swb.

thanks

Probably the mechanism in the steering wheel.
Mine did that.
I Gerry rigged it to make it work.
Try wobbling indicator stalk around, that will help identify things.

Have you tried swapping the flasher relay with a good working one?

Check for a short in the right side indicator wiring, normally I'd say start with the bulbs, but you've already done that.

I don't know if this advice will help or is really related but the same thing happened to me when I only had my side indicators wired up. I then Installed a bullbar and connected the bull bar indicators up and presto no annoying buzzing. So to sum that up are your front indicators all wired up properly ?

I have had a similar problem with buzzing but it didn’t stop the light from coming up. I bought another unit out of wreck only to discover the Vits vary between years and so gave up apart from chucking fresh grease in mine. Problem solved so far, 6 months down the track – can’t say it is the solution but it is an easy place to start. If not, a couple of other bits in this post about flipping contacts.

The stalk might be dirty, get into it with contact clean

Though the hazard thing is funny, maybe both hazard switches are buggered which is odd.

Do you have all normal bulbs, IE 3 either side (plus dash) no LED or anything?

I think it odd that both vehicles have developed the same problem, do you have a trailer that you've towed with both of them?
The flasher unit would normally do both left and right indicators so if theres an issue with that I would think it would be across the board.
I would be checking the wiring, especially trailer plug if fitted, I have seen crap that collected in there 4wding short stuff out and create similar issues.

Royce- the Maruti is stock lights all round, bullbar, side and rear. but the swb is running LED indicators at the rear and side.
i havent had a chance to try hit the stalk area with contact cleaner, but i did look at it yesterday and it loosk very clean with very little dust and rubbish.

Pooke- no trailer or electrical devices that both cars run, the SWB developed the problem so i started to drive the Maruti while i fixed it. then within a week the indicator started playing up and it started the dreaded buzzing.

Problem has been solved.
I ended up taking the Maruti to an auto electrician due to having no time, the problem was in the stalk somwere needed some contacts to be cleaned.

as for the SWB i found this cheeky broken wire when unplugging the front indicator plug.

does anybody know how i can get the plug apart to re do the conections?
