hey guys,

after a bit of info for a mate. He has a 92' sierra with 2inch lifted king springs and rancho 5000 shocks. Atm his rancho shocks aren't long enough to allow much downwards travel and as a result is lifting the wheels very easily and not articulating as well as he would like. He has bought some 2 inch extended shakles but can't put them on as it would mean that his current shocks wouldn't be long enough. I have seen that people use the hilux/commy shock combination. I was just wondering if this combination on his current set up would provide him with enough travel to fit the extended shackels in and also provide enough downwards travel so it can articulate properly?

and has anyone had any experience with the hilux/commy gabriel shocks you can get from super cheap?

any help/advice would be great. thanks.

i have used the gabriel commo wagon shocks on the front, they are pretty good but need a bumpstop ext (about 25mm or 35mm) to not bottom out and have plenty of drop for most people.

hilux in the rear need to be mounted inboard as they are alot longed, a stuffer shock and have diffrent size bushes. they work well as well

i got gabriel shocks in mine too the same ones that super cheap sell but i didn't get them at super cheap prices
if i remember right they were
part # 81147 for your back shocks - i think they are out of a liteace
part # 81340 for your front shocks - i think they are lowered vn wagon rears
they fit straight on and they are about 3-4 inches longer extened than the shocks that came on mine (i think the shocks that came on mine might be longer than standard but i'm not sure)

dont you know you have to extend your bumpstops till they are so long you actually get another 3 inches of lift
its what all the cool people do

they are a fair bit stiffer than the standard ones but so far they seem smoother

thanks for the help guys. this shock set up should be fine for running 2inch extended shakles and a 2inch spring lift??????
