Are the front and rear diffs on a 88 WT sierra the same, As I'm plannig to swap the front and rear over as the rears has excessive backlash.I Think they are but I want to make sure before I swap them over.
Cheers Wooza

nope.
the WT has a crap front hemisphere construction ... not as strong as the rear, but mainly....the rear axles and front CV axles are different sizes.

Ok the diffs out It still looks Ok but the spline on the axles look a bit worn. Where's the best place to get zook diff bits(Gaskets, seals, bearing,Etc) Anyway while I have the diff out I should put a locker in it.

Found out yesterday the house settlement is the end of Sept. so if thats still possibble to borrow the spare diff at you place, I will strip down my diff ready for a locker of some description.

The finance for the house fell through. BUGGER It means I will have to wait a little longer for the locker. Checked the back lash today, the manual says .1mm - .15mm back lash, with a Dial indicator I measured .8mm - .9mm . bit excessive for my liking.
