What temp should my sierra run at? I put a new water temp gauge in today and it was at 170F sitting in the shed

sounds about right... if a little on the cool side.... warmer would give you better fuel efficiency.

the manual states thermostat opens at 82C (179F) and is fully open at 95C (203F
