| Post subject: | Jimny auto gear reduction |
Hi guys, I know gear reduction is done to death but i cant find any info around reduction for auto jimny? Does any one know how or what i need to buy to get better ratios back, i am only running 215/75 but being a auto its now just too slow. Thanks Lloyd |

What year is your jimny? If it's non-vvt you could put some VVT diffs in (4.3) and that would bring the gearing back to standard with 215/75 r15's... |

Its a 2003 with double over head cam i dont think its VVT. Just a ball park but are replacement diffs going to cost more than $500 each? |

They will be exy from a wrecker, but if you buy them private, you should be able to pick both up for under $500 if your lucky...but i wouldn't pay more than $250 per center... |

Thebigdog, what are they going to cost and more to the point what are tou going to do about gearing back too far the other way? Going bigger tyres over 215/75? |

They will be over $1000 from trail jimny (very exy, considering you could put a sierra t-case for under $500) but you can get the 24% gears cheaper from here http://www.jimnybits.co.uk/shop/jimny/j ... d_466.html not sure if they fit a auto t-case tho... Also, if you do decide to swap to 4.3 center's, i will swap a front 4.3 center with your rear center if you are keen(20,000km's on it)? I will pay postage both ways... |
