the earlier swifts : ie 1984-1988 use the same carby as sierra although a slightly different external configuration , internals are the same. the jetting is different though , the primary jet is a tad smaller, but the secondary jet is much larger , ive seen everything in earlier swifts from 117-141 secondary and everything in between , always see a 104 or 105 in a sierra nothing ever different , which made me curious as why so many different jets in the early swifts.
What i put it down to was the sierra in that era only come in 1 option , same engine , same gearbox , one configuration , whereas the swift would come in 3 cylinder and 4 cylinder , auto and manual , a multiple of different configs which each requires a different jetting to another.
